Save Workspace on close
In WordPerfect there is an option to 'Save Workspace on Close' in which a
prompt appears when closing the program. Answering 'Yes' retrieves and displays the last document worked on at the point it was last saved ('Quickmark' bookmark). Does Word have a similar feature? If so, how is it activated? -- Mike |

When your document is opened, you can press SHIFT+F5 to go to the last
edited point. -- Bill Foley, Microsoft MVP (PowerPoint) Microsoft Office Specialist Master Instructor - XP www.pttinc.com Check out PPT FAQs at: http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/ Check out Word FAQs at: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/index.htm "Mike" wrote in message ... Thanks Bill. I reposted the same message with better wording 'cause I got an
email response to the first one to the effect that 'it didn't take.' The SHIFT+F5 thing will work but can Word be started with the document last worked on already open. I often work with several documents open moving amongst them by clicking under Windows on the taskbar. At the end of the day, upon exiting Word and shutting down the computer, it would be nice when I come in the next day just to open Word and have all those documents already open and waiting than to try to recall which ones I was using. Guess I'm spoiled. I don't know that Word can be opened with previously opened documents opened
automatically, but it is quite simple to click "Start", "Documents', then click the one you want. Also (which I'm sure you know), Word does have the "recently used files" list that you can set the number of files to view (Tools, Options), and is available on the "File" menu. Maybe someone else might have another solution! -- Bill Foley, Microsoft MVP (PowerPoint) Microsoft Office Specialist Master Instructor - XP www.pttinc.com Check out PPT FAQs at: http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/ Check out Word FAQs at: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/index.htm "Mike" wrote in message ... In a way. You can create a shortcut to start Word with the most recently
used file (the first one listed on the MRU list) opened. See the /mfilen switch in €śWD: Word Startup (Command-Line) Switches and Their Purpose€ť at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=210565 (it's at the very end of the article). -- Suzanne S.
