Answer: Lock Aspect Ratio? - What does that mean?
Locking the aspect ratio in Microsoft Word means that when you resize an object, such as a picture or a shape, the height and width will be adjusted proportionally so that the object doesn't become distorted. This is especially useful when you want to resize an object to fit a specific space without changing its appearance.
To lock the aspect ratio of an object in Microsoft Word, follow these steps:
Alternatively, you can also lock the aspect ratio of an object by right-clicking on it and selecting "Size and Position" from the context menu. In the Size and Position dialog box, check the box next to "Lock aspect ratio" and click OK. By locking the aspect ratio of an object, you can ensure that it maintains its original proportions and looks the way you want it to, even after resizing.

Lock Aspect Ratio? - What does that mean?
Very little, actually. It means that if you change one dimension (height or
width) of a picture (or text box or other object), the other dimension will automatically be changed to maintain the shape and proportions of the object. This works in the dialog when you are changing the size by changing the percentage or the specific dimensions (in inches, centimeters, etc.), but it has NO effect if you resize the object by dragging on a side. Theoretically, if you drag a corner, you will resize the object proportionally, but I find even this rather iffy. -- Suzanne S.
