Default my staus bar shows a page no 21 for the first page of a document

But the page number and the total number of pages based on the physical page
count in the document is correct.
Why this happened so?

Default my staus bar shows a page no 21 for the first page of a document

What you are seeing is the starting page number for the current
section. Use the Page Number Format dialog box to change it: Choose
View | Header and Footer. On the Header and Footer toolbar, click the
Format Page Number button. In the dialog box, choose the "Continue
from previous section" option, and click OK.
