Recently worked with a document that was created by someone else in a
two-column format (not newspaper style). Had many problems with the
document, because I am not that proficient with columns that are not
newspaper style.

Could I please get help in creating and working with non-newspaper columns
in Word? I am using Microsoft Office XP.
