Default Error closing Word is in Chinese

Office 2003 Pro: sometimes, when I close Word or Outlook (with Word as the
editor), I get an error message that is entirely Chinese characters, with
only an "OK" button and no text in the title bar. I have only the standard
American English installed. Any idea what might be causing this message?
Others at our company have also gotten this message. (Virus/spyware
definitions are all up-to-date and scans are run daily, plus we're behind an
enterprise-class 'default deny' firewall.)

That's strange! Ten years of doing this and never heard that one.

I can only GUESS that maybe you acquired some addin somehow? See this
TechTrax article to see if this helps:

Good luck!
