I don't know about the free version but the 2007 version has hidden the print
button behind the "windows symbol" (4 colored boxes inside a circle) in the
upper left corner. If you click on the symbol a menu will appear with print
as an option.

The free trial is a full version of Office 2007, just time-limited. The
Print command (which brings up the Print dialog) and QuickPrint (which
prints immediately, like the Print button on the Standard toolbar in earlier
versions) are both on the Office Button menu, and the Print dialog can be
accessed with Ctrl+P as usual.

You will not be able to open or edit Word 2007 documents in an earlier
version of Word unless you (a) save them in Word 97-2003 format or (b)
download the Compatibility Pack for the earlier version (2000 and above).

As Suzanne indicated in the first paragraph of her reply, Yes, you can print
from the trial version as long as it is active.
