Default inserting a word document

I have two documents (A and B) with different margins. Document A has 1.5
inch margins and Document B has .5 margins. Document B also contains several
tables. I want to insert Document B at the end of Document A.

After combining these two documents, I must have a 1.5 inch margin
throughout. When doing this, however, my tables look as though they would
print off of the page (given that they originally had .5 inch margins).

Is there a way for me to bring Document B to Document A (keeping 1.5 margins
all of the way around) without it looking like the tables are going to print
off the page and without reformatting all of the tables? If Document B was a
figure or a pdf file, I would be able to scale the whole document down
without losing part of the document or without losing proportions. I do not
need the tables or any part of Document B to be editable once it is a part of
document A.

One way is to make Document A and B separate sections with different
margins. To separate them, insert a section break at the end of document A
(insert - break - section break... the kind of break depends on whether you
want document B to begin on the same page as document A).

Initially, Document B will take on the 1.5" margin. Move the insertion point
to document B, choose Format - Page Setup - Margins tab. Set Apply to: to
"This section". Set the margins (s) as desired.

I understand the concept of section breaks - but I cannot have different
margins.

Select the table, go to the Table tab of Table | Properties, and set the
preferred width of the table to 100%. This will reduce the table to margin
width. Then reduce the font size as needed to scale the table down. For
tips, see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/FitCopy.htm

I see. I misunderstood "must have" to mean that Word was constraining you.
Suzanne's solution should get you what you want.
