Default Word no longer allows me

to paste from Explorer into a new document . I am constantly being told
(when I do CTRL/ALT/Delete that the program is 'not responding'. How can I
fix this? I have tried going to Microsoft Office Tools and choosing 'MS
Office application recovery' but it does not work. Can you help me? Thanks
very much.
