Default How do you remove East Asian Language set from MS Word XP?

In Word XP, I have an XP Pro workstation that has East Asian Languages
installed as an additional feature. When poorly formatted documents with
other language sets embedded in them (spanish), the header/footer becomes
inconsistent.
Any suggestions would be welcomed.
Thank you.

See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=839371 "Margin marks or
crop marks appear on each corner of the page when you open a
document in Word 2002 or in Word 2003".
