Hi ?B?VmFzaWxpcw==?=,

It was impossible to find the AutoText or AutoComplete option in Word 2007
beta.

AutoComplete is no longer there.

For AutoText, look for the "Quick Parts" button (under Insert) the click on
the list icon to see the various possibilities. AutoText is one of them.

To add to this... F3 still works for expanding AutoText entries (in fact, it
works for all Quick Parts and Building Blocks).

If Word 2007 "sees" your Word 2003 (or earlier) Normal.dot, then your
existing AutoText entries are added to Building Blocks gallery.

AutoComplete was turned off because with so many things in the BB gallery,
AutoComplete was getting activated for just about every other word you typed
in early betas (according to Microsoft).

No, there is still no possibility to edit or add any AutoText entry and F3
doesn't work, in fact there is no AutoText option under Quick Parts. The most
frustrating thing of all is that the Greek and Russian spell check, that has
been working fine with Word XP and 2003, now it is gone, in fact it works
with OpenOffice 2!

You are using a beta version. Greek and Russian spell checking won't be
available until the release of Office 2007. If you need that, then go
back to a released version, e.g. 2003.

Yes. You *can* add new AutoText entries, and F3 *does* work. Note that
AutoText is no longer added using the same dialog as AutoCorrect. The method
has changed.

In the Insert Ribbon, choose Quick Parts - Building Blocks Organizer. Click
the Gallery heading to sort by Gallery. This is where your AutoText entries
should be listed. If you don't see any, then you haven't added any.

To add an AutoText entry, in a document, select the text you want to add,
then do either of the following:

A. Press Alt+F3.

Or

B. In the Insert ribbon, choose Quick Parts - Save Selection to Quick Parts
Gallery.

Both of those bring up the Create New Building Block dialog.

In the Create New Building Block dialog, give the item a name and set
Gallery to AutoText. Include category/description, if desired, probably
want to leave Save in: and Options: as is, then click OK.

Note that if you instead set Gallery to Quick Parts, it will be available
when you first click Quick Parts in the Insert ribbon.

Regardless of which gallery you use, however, F3 will work. Type enough of
the AutoText name that it's not ambiguous and press F3, and it will
automatically expand.
