Word2007 bug: won't place picture correctly
I am preparing a book.
It has Multiple pages: two on a landscape 8 1/2 x 11 sheet. A picture on the right side, page two, prints on the left side, page one. Try it. Page Setup: "landscape" Multiple pages: "2 pages per sheet" Hit enough lines (Enter) to make the second page appear. Insert a picture on the right hand, page two. Print review is ok. Print it. It will print on the left side, page one. I've tried everything, including wrapping the picture in text; setting page breaks and section breaks. If I cannot solve this, Word2007 is useless to me. Word2007 bug: won't place picture correctly
Well, first of all, page 1 should be on the right side, not the left (page 2
is on the left, on the back of page 1). Second, an easier way to get a second page is to insert a page break (Ctrl+Enter). Instead of using "2 pages per sheet," have you tried using "Book fold"? -- Suzanne S. Word2007 bug: won't place picture correctly
I don't have Word 2007, and I have heard that there are problems with
placement of wrapped graphics in that version, but that doesn't change the fact that if you're encountering the same problems with "2 pages per sheet" that you did with "Book fold," then you might as well at least be trying to solve them with "Book fold" instead of using a less satisfactory approach. -- Suzanne S. Suzanne, I tried *everything* : three printers, different graphics, various page layouts -- including Book fold and 2 pages -- . Please. Don't scold me. I'm weeping already. Mason C |

Word2007 bug: won't place picture correctly
Jay has confirmed the bug (something I cannot do since I don't have Word
2007 installed); as I said, it has been reported previously. FWIW, if you're preparing a *booklet," see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting...etPrinting.htm. The technique for Word 97 will, I suspect still work in Word 2007 (albeit admittedly more work). If you're preparing a *book* (for self-publishing), then the printer will almost certainly want each page on a separate sheet (even if they're half-sheet sized). If you're preparing a *manuscript* (to be sent to a publisher), then layout is not your responsibility. -- Suzanne S. Word2007 bug: won't place picture correctly
I've confirmed your bug. I'll pass it along -- I can't make any
promises for MS about when or whether there will be a fix, but I'll make sure it gets into the bug database. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. Word2007 bug: won't place picture correctly
A PS: Mason, on your previous post--this fix worked to fix a different
problem-- "What the heck ! I saved it as a Word97-2003, closed and reloaded it and it still shows two page 2's in Print Preview but prints correctly." Did you try that on this problem? HELP ! Mason C Just to close the record: bottom line: I returned Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 to Fry's. With some reluctance they fully credited my credit card. Mason C Yes, I did uninstall it. |
