Default Index: Is there a way to autogenerate subentries?

I'm using a concurrance file to automark index entries.
Problem is, all words in the file is picked up as the main index entry.
I've been manually marking subentries. It's a huge document and the thought
of going thru this manually is quite staggering.

Thanks.
