Windows in Taskbar
I go Tools - Options - View tab - uncheck Windows in Taskbar - OK, and the
next time I open Windows 2003 and select a template, it opens a new Word in a new window, and when I check the Windows in Taskbar is checked again. Any ideas of what I am doing wrong? Would appreciate all ideas, suggestions, and comments. Thanks, K. |

When options aren't being "remembered", it's usually registry corruption. I
would try renaming or deleting the Data key in the registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\W ord\Data *Standard disclaimer: editing the registry can cause problems if you mess up, and can destabilize the rotation of the planet. Proceed at your own risk.* -- Herb Tyson MS MVP Author of the Word 2007 Bible Blog: http://word2007bible.herbtyson.com Web: http://www.herbtyson.com "K" wrote in message ... It could be that the template you are loading is resetting the option. Try
setting the option the way you want it and then starting Word without loading any templates - you can do this with the /a switch. For example, if Word 2003 has been installed in the default location, you can achieve this by opening a command window and entering "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\WINWORD.EXE" /a If the option stays the way you want it when you do this, something in your normal Word startup is changing the setting. More info about starting Word with swictches is at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/210565 "K" wrote: I go Tools - Options - View tab - uncheck Windows in Taskbar - OK, and the next time I open Windows 2003 and select a template, it opens a new Word in a new window, and when I check the Windows in Taskbar is checked again.
