Default open document with full page

Whenever I create a new page, I don't see the full page. To get it, I have to
view header/footer and then close it. I then can see the full page.

Thanks

From the Tools menu, selection Options and then go to the View tab and check
the box against "White space between pages (Print view only)" under the
Print and Web Layout options section of the dialog.

Alternatively, if you move the mouse cursor to the top edge of the document,
it will change its form to two vertically opposing arrows accompanied by a
tooltip text of "Show white space". Left clicking at that point will cause
the space to be displayed. You can hide it by the same method which is what
may have happened to you.
