Default charater limit merging from excel to word

I am trying to merge data from an excel data source into a word template. and
some of the text fields are truncated, and aren't formatted in the box
correctly. Is there a character count restriction on the merge? Any
information of documentation would be helpful

From the Tools menu in Word, select Options and then go to the General tab
and check the box against the "Confirm conversions at open" item. Then when
you attach the data source to the mail merge main document, select the DDE
option and see if that makes any difference.

Hope this helps.
