Default Opening Word files that have not been closed properly.

I have a ms word file that was saved but the computer lostpower and now when
I try to open it it says it is alreddy open and I can't read the file all
numbers and squares and such, How can I close it or how do I open it.It is an
emportant file so would hate to lose it.

Sounds... bad?

Have you already tried "Open and Repair"? (File Open [to the right of
the filename change the "Open" dropdown to] Open and Repair)

If you can get it to open at all I recommend that you immediately Select All
and copy and paste everything into a new document and save it in case
something else happens.
