Default Word doesn't open properly

When I open Word, it doesn't open in the complete window. It appears towards
the top of my screen, but not all the way - about one inch from the top. I
can't see the bottom tool bars and I can't expand it. The only way to get
the full screen view is to open an old document. Can anyone help me out on
how to fix this - Word 2003.

Thanks in advance.

I believe this has been reported to be a result of using Outlook as the
email editor for Word and perhaps opening Outlook first?
