How do I avoid getting the copyright symbol when a want C in parentheses?

Special characters
In Word, click on Tools | AutoCorrect Options | AutoCorrect tab.

Alternatively, if you want to preserve the AutoCorrect entry (sometimes it
can come in handy), press Ctrl+Z (Undo) to undo the auto correction. -- Suzanne S. Or change the autocorrection trigger to #(c) so that you can deliberately
