Thumbs up Answer: Find and replace with soft return

Finding and Replacing Hard Returns with Soft Returns in Microsoft Word
  1. Open your Word document and press Ctrl + H on your keyboard to open the Find and Replace dialog box.
  2. In the Find what field, type ^p (this represents a hard return).
  3. In the Replace with field, type ^l (this represents a soft return).
  4. Click on the More button to expand the dialog box.
  5. Make sure that the Use wildcards option is selected.
  6. Click on the Replace All button to replace all hard returns with soft returns in your document.

That's it! Now all the hard returns in your document should be replaced with soft returns. Keep in mind that this will replace all hard returns in your document, so make sure you want to do this before clicking on the Replace All button.
