Default Can I edit Word calendar templates?

I want to use a Word i page 2006 calendar template but would like to change
the background color of the months. Tstandard color conflicts with the colors
in the photo I am using. Beginning to wonder if it isn't easier to simply
make my own in Excel...

I'm probably going to ruffle a few feathers but... you're going to have
limitations when you try to use a word processor to do a desktop publishing
program's job.

Thanks for your reply... so can you give me a suggestion of what I might use
instead? I just want to make a simple 2006 calendar that has a photo above
it. A template seemed the right way to go, but as I said I can probably make
one from scratch in Excel given the amount of time it's taken me to try to
modify a template!

Excel is not a desktop publishing program either. Gee - now that I think
about it - Publisher is! (I thought you'd figure that out by my signature.)

I just did what you want to do and it is quite simple (and you do not need a
publisher program). Click tools, customize, tables & borders and a toolbar
will appear. You can change the background of any textbox you highlight
using the little paint bucket.
