Footers automaticaly duplicating in body of document
On 2 pages of a 67 page document the footer is appearing 2 extra times at the
bottom of the body of the document. I cannot select, highlight or alter the text in these footers when in regular print layout or in header and footer view. The only difference with these two pages is that they do have footnotes on the page. Other pages in the same section are not having this problem. I have attempted deleting the footer on the page and it doesn't affect the copies. When in Print layout mode the copies are greyed out and when in header and footer view the copies are black. The extra copies do not appear in normal view. When I print the document they do appear on the print outs. I don't know how they got there. Please help me get rid of them!!! Thank you! |

How many sections does the document contain? Are these two pages
consecutive? In the same section? The only pages (or odd/even pages) in a section? -- Suzanne S. Footers automaticaly duplicating in body of document
There are 11 sections in the document. I found 2 more pages with this
problem. In one instance the pages are consecutive pages (pg 11 & 12) in the same section and in the other instance (pg 40 &42) there is a page between them and they are in a separate section from pages 11&12. The only commonality I am finding is that they all have footnotes. In both instances they are the only pages with this problem in their respective sections. I hope this answers all of your questions. I'll look at the document if you'd like to send it (or a portion of it) to
me. -- Suzanne S. Footers automaticaly duplicating in body of document
I found the solution, (with help from a co-worker)! The extra copies of the
footer ended up associated with the footnote separator. I went to normal view then viewfootnotesFootnote Separator and the extra copies were there with the line and I was able to delete them there. I still don't know how they got there - some kind of quirk in Word. Thanks for your help! "Suzanne S. Barnhill" wrote: How many sections does the document contain? Are these two pages consecutive?
