Default What is the red paragraph mark for in word - not track changes.

Example

11.2 Appointment (red paragraph mark here)

(rest of paragraph under red paragraph mark) To provide a common
framework for the etc....

When previwed, the rest of the paragraph is on the same line as the red
paragraph mark, but in WORD it appears as above. What is it and what is it
for?
Thanks.
