Default How do I enable subdued text?

I wish to have some of the text on a word document subdued, i.e., less
visible or less readable.

Change the font color to one of the shades of gray. For uniformity, define a
character style that includes that color, and apply the style wherever you want
(you can assign a keyboard shortcut to a style if you want).
