Default Can I set word to have a double space after every full stop?

I edit a regular document using a word template and want to have a double
space after every full stop. Can this be set up in the template to do this
automatically?

There is no way to make Word do this automatically, but the grammar checker
has a setting where you can choose your preferred number of spaces after a
period (one, two, or no preference), and Word will mark as "incorrect" any
deviation from that preference.

Ms. Barnhill,

I use Word for the Mac in Office 2004.

I want to turn off automatic double spacing between paragraphs.

Ive gone to

Format
Paragraph
Lines and spacing

And set €śbefore€ť and €śafter€ť to 0 pt.and ald chosen €śsingle spacing.€ť This
worked in one document but not in another.

I tried opening a new blank document and pasting the text from the problem
document into it, but the double spacing was still there.

With each new version of Word there are more features that one has to
struggle against. May I suggest a toggle button where one can choose between
€śofficious€ť and €śnot officious€ť or €śannoying€ť and €śnot annoying.€ť

Format | Paragraph only changes the settings for the selection. To change
the actual defaults, you will have to modify the Normal style of the Normal
template. If you want detailed steps, you should ask in a MacWord newsgroup.

In addition to what Stefan has said, you would need to begin a new thread
since your question has nothing to do with spacing after periods (full
stops) but with line spacing after paragraphs.
