Default Absolute and Relative (to Section) Page Numbers

Sorry if this duplicates something that was already posted. I looked
but could not find.

I would like to have two sets of page numbers in my document: absolute,
and relative to the current section. Like this:

--- section 1 ---
abs: 1 of 4
rel: 1 of 2
------
abs: 2 of 4
rel: 2 of 2
--- section 2 ---
abs: 3 of 4
rel: 1 of 2
------
abs: 4 of 4
rel: 2 of 2

I can see how to insert page numbers so that each section starts at 1,
but the "start at" setting seems to apply to the section, not the page
numbers, so it gets in the way of the absolute page numbers. The rest
(numpages and sectionpages) looks easy.

Hopefully this is easy to do and I'm just missing something. Thanks!

You need a little field magic to do this:

1. Bookmark something on the first page of each section (such as the initial
heading, if there is one).

2. Use a calculation field to enter the relative page number: { = { PAGE } -
{ PAGEREF bookmarkname } + 1 } (Translation: absolute page number, minus
page number of the bookmark for that section, plus one.)

3. Use a SectionPages field for the number of pages in the section.
