Word freezes using ^p to search text files
Use Wordpad to create a text file, such as:
abcd efgh ijkl mnop abcd efgh ijkl mnop Open file in Word 2007. (I'm on Vista, 64-bit.) Use standard Find to search for "d^p" (i.e. d at the end of a line). Word will find the d at the end of the first line. Search again. Word goes into neverneverland, searching forever and eating up CPU. (You can stop it by pressing Esc.) I've found various workarounds, but the behavior is annoying. Bug? |
