Default Counting instances of specific words in a document

How can Word tell me when I've used the same word (i.e., malestrom) more than
once in a document? WordPerfect has a feature that will list alphabetically
all the words in a document, as well as indicate the number of times each
words was used. When you're drafting a document it isn't hard to use the
same word over again, but it usually isn't desireable to have certain words
pop up a second or subsequent time. Can anyone help me?

Michael,

Word doesn's have that specific feature. You can use EditReplace and
replace malestrom with malestrom and Word will report the number of
replacements made. I have put together a Word Add-In that is useful
for this purpose see:

You could also look for words marked as misspelled, since the word I think
you're looking for is "maelstrom." g

Depending on your version of Word, select the word in question and in the
Find dialog box choose Whole Document, then click Find All. You'll get a
count of all instances forund.

Good Luck |:)
