Default why is there a typing delay in Word 2003?

When I type in word there is a few second delay between my keyboard action
and the time when the words appear on the screen. This is very frustrating
and annoying... any tips on how to fix this problem??

Remove the software that's trapping your keystrokes and thinking about them.
