Try the formula field
{ =(e2-f2) \# $,#.00 } where the field delimiters { } are entered with CTRL+F9. -- Greg Maxey/Word MVP See: http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/word_tips.htm For some helpful tips using Word. jaccs89 wrote: i have a simple table in ms word 2000. i need to subtract cell F2 from Cell E2 and have the answer show up with a dollar sign as well. i can't seem to perform this in ms word. any help on this would very much be appreciated |

In the cell where you want the result to appear, enter
{ = E2 - F2 \# "$,0.00$,0.00)" } Where the { } are inserted by using Ctrl+F9, Alt+F9 is used to toggle off the display of field codes and F9 is used to update the field so that it shows the result of the calculation. -- Hope this helps.
