odd stuff, numbering & styles in Word 2007
Hello.
I "all the sudden" have a problem in a Word '07 file. I have 7 styles. Each style is an indenture level. It looks about like this: 1. A. (1) (a) 1) and so on... For some reason I can't find, a number that is supposed to be "(8)" will appear as "(2)(8)". Or "1) 2) and 3)" might appear as "2)1) 3)2) and 4)3" (Yes, the first digits - the annoying, not-supposed-to-be-there digits, are sequential.) I've played with all I can think of with Styles, numbering, start values, continue numbering, restart numbering, custom number formats (new and old), deleting styles and then importing a style from a different file, etc. This file was okay the last time I visited it - about 2 weeks ago. I even have a PDF made from it, and it does not show the crazy numbering scheme. Any help or sympathy appreciated. |
