How can I stop automated headings in Word?
I have Word XP. Every time I type a sentence or phrase and "Return" a couple
of lines, the text that I have typed changes from my origonal font and size (Normal) to a Style-- "Heading 1", Arial, 16. I am going crazy! How can I change this to stay in my default mode until I make any changes? |

How can I stop automated headings in Word?
In Tools AutoCorrect Options AutoFormat As You Type, turn off the
option for "Built-in heading styles". You can avoid a lot of other headaches by turning off most of the other options in that tab, too. See http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Format...AutoFormat.htm for discussion. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
