Default how do I get english as my language only

Somehow I got a foreign language in my yahoo e-mail and other things I write
how do I fix it it is changing my english to another language. It
translates english to german I think. I have windows xp I have tried system
restore and that doesn't help

Check your language settings in Control Panel. The following message
contains instructions specifically for Word, but the general Windows
settings described should apply to other programs as well:

Also check if yahoo mail offers a language setting for you (if it
does, you would find it by clicking a link or button named Settings or
Preferences or something similar).
