Mirror Indents
Can someone tell me what Mirror Indents are in the Paragraph Dialog Box
(under paragraph on the Home Tab of the Ribbon)? Is this just a new way to say Double Indent, the same indent on both the left and right side of a paragraph? Thanks for any info. |

(If you need that, apply the Block Text style.) Notice that when you check the Mirror Indents box, the labels of the Left and Right indent fields change to Inside and Outside. This applies the inside indent on one side of the paragraph on even-numbered pages, and to the other side on odd-numbered pages. It's supposed to be the paragraph equivalent of the page margins used when you select "Mirror margins" in the Page Setup dialog. It would have been nice if this feature got the "inside" and "outside" edges correct, but it gets them backwards -- the inside indent is applied on the right, or outside, of odd-numbered pages, and vice versa. :-b To correct for this, put your inside measurement in the Outside box, and your outside measurement in the Inside box. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |

Mirror Indents
Sounds like the reversal is a perpetuation of the same error in "Book fold,"
which also has Inside and Outside reversed. -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA "Jay Freedman" wrote in message ...
