Default Creating Forms in Word 2003

I am trying to convert a printable word form into an online form in word
2003. Next to each question, using the control toolbox, I placed a text box
or a check box.
I have protected the document and and save it both as a template and a word
document. In testing it, I can fill out the form using tab to go to the next
text field box.
The problem comes when I email it to myself as an attachment. If it is a
protected document, I can open the attachment but I cannot fill in the form
even though I have checked the editing restriction-"filing in the forms". If
I send it as unprotected I can complete the form but cannot move from text
box to text box using the tab key. I need to click on each box with the mouse.
Is their a step I am missing in the creating form process?
I am hoping that I will be able to email this form to our membership or post
the form online at our website.

Thanks

So, you say when you receive as an attachment the protected Word document
(not template) that you can not edit it all? What view are you in when you
open the attachment? Have you moved on past the Reading Layout view and are
in either Normal or Print Layout view?

You may want to read through these articles - but it does not sound as
though you are missing a step.
