Default Word refuses to convert one particular word document to pdf

I have a largish Word document, approx 8 Mb, which I'm unable to convert to
PDF format. I'm using Adobe v. 7 professional. It starts the process and
then just hangs. I have updated Adobe with latest updates. Any ideas??

Some Word documents are just too complex for Acrobat. And some take a *very*
long time, so that it looks like Acrobat has frozen. Some things to try ---

1. Run it with the Task Manager displayed, and watch if Acrobat is really
hanging, or just busy in the background.

2. Print it to Adobe in parts, then combine them later. Instead of using the
Create PDF toolbar or menu, use File Print and select Acrobat as the
printer. Do pages 1 - 10, then 11 - 20, and so on. This will also show if
there is a single page causing a problem. (To combine the parts, open the
first part in Acrobat, then go to Document Insert pages.)
