Default Why is text not seen in footers

I have a document with four pages in it. But he headeris not shown on the
first page, on screen or when printed. it ahs not been set up as a different
first page and the cursor moves along as you type but nothing appears. I
ahve checked the font colour and tried black rather than auto but to no avail.

Make sure that the Hidden font property has not been applied. Alternatively,
it could be that the header is intentionally suppressed on the first page
using an IF field. Press Alt+F9 to see if a field code is involved.
