Default saving a password protected document as a new document without ca.

Can you save a password protected document (Password to modify) as a new
document without having the new document protected?

Yes.

Then you can exit Word. Delete the old document, and rename the new document
to the old name.

Yes, but you'll need to open it first, disable the password setting, then
use Save As.
