Default permanently deleting default MS Word document

I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but everytime i open MS
word, an old word document always appears. I have deleted this document
from the computer, but it never fails to show up on the screen when i open MS
word. How do i keep this from happening?
Thanks

From the FAQ:
