Hi, On word if you type that a smiley face appears in it's place, could
anyone tell me if there is any other symbols??

This is simply an AutoCorrect entry. Go to Tools AutoCorrect to see the
default list. You can set up any others you like -- go to Insert Symbol
and look at the Symbol, Wingdings, Webdings and any other non-text fonts for
other symbols you could use.
