Unless you see two dots between words with nonprinting characters displayed,
then you don't actually have two spaces. If your text is justified, then some lines may have very large spaces between words (in the jargon of the trade, these are "loose lines"); you can remedy this with judicious hyphenation. Or, if you see circles instead of dots, it may be that the spaces are en or em spaces, in which case you can select one and press the spacebar to replace it with an ordinary space. -- Suzanne S. Are there actually two spaces? Turn on the display of formatting (click ¶ or
CTRL+SHIFT+8) and see how many dots there are between the words. If as I suspect there is only one, then this is probably just a display anomaly or a printer driver limitation. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org "NIMISH" NIMISH @discussions.microsoft.com wrote in message ... i am using word 2003 and while typing suddenly i noticed that inbetween two words there were double spaces. Do you have your text justified? In order to justify text extra space is put
between words. However you can't delete these "extra" spaces. -- Rae Drysdale "NIMISH" wrote: i am using word 2003 and while typing suddenly i noticed that inbetween two words there were double spaces.
