BOOKLET Printing - random sheets
I've inputted 70 names into the booklet format of Word for a directory, but
when I print, it doesn't line up correctly. The "B"s start the list, then it prints and "S" page. And so on...I've tried duplexing and have the same unusual occurence of miscellaneous pages in no particular order. Not sure where to go from here... |

That's by design. Say you have an eight-page booklet. Word will print the
pages as follows: 8 and 1 2 and 7 6 and 3 4 and 5 It may print 8/1 and 6/3 first and wait for you to turn the paper over and print the other side (manual duplex), or (if you have an automatic duplexer) it may print all the recto and verso pages automatically without help from you. When you stack up all the pages together correctly and fold them in the center, they will be in the correct order for a booklet. -- Suzanne S. How 'bout I send it to you and you can try. I'm serious getting nutty over
this. I can follow directions, but either way (normal or duplex) the booklet does not fold and read from start to finish. "Suzanne S. Barnhill" wrote: That's by design. BOOKLET Printing - random sheets
Ok..I'm getting closer. I now understand that you can't just pull this out
of the printer, fold and go. You have to turn 2/7 over so that 1 is first, then turn to page 2, etc. However...this doesn't appear to work for duplexing. I've got 23/1 and 22/2, but these all have writing on the other side of each sheet...so I can't pull 3 because it's on the back of another 15/10. So I guess you print single side, fold over, and copy. "Suzanne S. Barnhill" wrote: That's by design. Say you have an eight-page booklet. It's a lot easier to print single-sided or duplex manually. Word *ought* to
get it right, but, depending on how your duplexer works, and given the inherent flaws of the "Book fold" feature, I'm not surprised that it so often doesn't. It may be that something as simple as changing the print order to print the pages in reverse order would make it work, though. -- Suzanne S.
