Default Convert Word hyperlink with bookmark to PDf hyperlink

I'm having trouble maintaining the link and bookmark after converting to PDF.
In Word the link looks like this:
{HYPERLINK "C:\\FOLDER\\filename.aspx"\|"bookmark"}

but when converted to PDF, click the linked word, it returns the message:
Could not open the file 'bookmark'

Thanks for any help. I'm using Word 2003 and Acrobat 6.0.3

There's a bug in Acrobat 6 relating to hyperlinks with bookmarks. I posted a
question about it on the Acrobat forum a while ago ... only responses were
from other people who'd met the same problem.

Thanks for replying. What was your solution? It seems from what I've read
that Acrobat 7 has it's share of bugs, too.

In my case I was able to deal with it by splitting the target document into
separate documents, so the need for bookmarked targets was eliminated.
(There were other reasons for doing this -- solving the hyperlink problem
was just a serendipitous side-effect.)

I haven't tried Acrobat 7, but yes, it sounds like a nightmare. One of my
colleagues has found that it scrambles his graphics -- in documents that
convert perfectly well with Acrobat 6.
