Default Word 2003

We have a running log between employees to pass information on during shift
changes but when we open it up it always opens to the first day we started.
Is there any way to set up the document to open at the end so the employee
doesn't have to scroll down each time?

Either press SHIFT+F5 or CTRL+End or set the following macro in the
document's template.

Sub AutoOpen()
Selection.EndKey Unit:=wdStory
End Sub

might be better done in an Excel table. You can filter and sort that in
any way you wish.
