Default Word 2003 with embedded excel spreadsheet

The excel spreadsheet first appears as {Embed Excel.sheet8}.

I have to press Ctrl + shift + F9 to view the spreadsheet. However, when I
do this the spreadsheet acts like an image rather than a working operational
spreadsheet.

I am part of a network and all the other computers are working fine, it must
be the settings on my computer.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

You're using the wrong keyboard shortcut. Ctrl+Shift+F9 unlinks the field.
Alt+F9 will toggle the display.
