Default how to automaticly, by default, print file name/path at bottom o

How does one configure Word 2003 so as to automaticly insert the file name,
path or date created at the bottom of each and every document created? I
understand how to do it one by one but not how to do it by default. This is
easily accomplished in WordPerfect but I cant find anyone who knows how to do
it in Word 2003. Can anyone help?

You can put the { FILENAME /p } field in the footer of any template, but
adding any text to the header or footer of Normal.dot is strongly
discouraged.
