Default Is it possible to auto-change page numbers in a manual/handbook?

I am updating a document regularly, with page numbers changing quickly from
the numbers on the index. Is it possible to link the indexed numbers with the
page numbers in my document?

They ARE linked (assuming you created your index using the normal methods).
You need to update: ctrl-A, F9.

G'Day Michelle,

Word will allow you to create a TOC and/or an Index that can automatically
update it's Page No's...

See:
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/numbering/...gExplained.htm
for a thorough treatment.

Did you create the index by typing it all in? Don't do that!

Look in the Help for topics about "Create an index", "XE field", and
"INDEX field". They'll help you create an index that automatically
contains the correct page numbers.
