Default Pages in section

Hi

I have a document and need to have page x of y in the footer. The document
consists of 2 sections, the first being the title page and the second is the
body. I have in the footer placed the necessary fields and started the
numbering at 1 for the section. The document contains 9 pages including the
title page, but the footer contains the text page 1 of 9, yet there are only
8 pages in the body.

How can I get it to show page 1 of 8?

Tony,
Have you considered using the section pages field. This would give you what
you want. Go to Insert - fields - numbering section - select SectionPages -
OK. If the starting number for the section is set to 1 as you said it should
give you 1-8.

Display the header/footer area and then press Alt+F9 to show field
codes. Modify the { NUMPAGES } field so that it reads
{ SECTIONPAGES }. Press F9 to update and then press Alt+F9 again to
hide field codes.
