PS. If you use the StyleRef field, you do not need to make each chapter a
separate section just to get a different header. (You would need separate
sections to restart page numbering or footnote numbering, but otherwise you
might be able to take those section breaks out).

Heading style your chapter titles are formatted as.

Hello,

I have a long document with a large number (~100) of short chapter (2-3
pages), and I would like to add the chapter title to the page header in each
case.

Is there a way to do this automatically? I've followed the procedure in MS
Word Help, and defined each chapter to be a separate section. But when I
view the header, and use
Insert-Reference-CrossReference
to insert Heading into the header, I have to manually specify which chapter
title to use.

Is there a way to do this automatically?

Many thanks,
Paul
