Default opening 2 docs simultaneously

pre office 2003 the following commandlines following one another in a batch
file called by a DOS program opened two Word mailmerge docs at the same
time. The second one would get the focus.

C:\Progra~1\Micros~3\office11\winword.exe /mone
C:\Progra~1\Micros~3\office11\winword.exe /mtwo

since installing Word 2003 they now open in sequence ie I must close the
first before the second will open.
I need both open at the same time as before. I am opening both manually at
present with a couple of shortcuts to the respective docs.

How can I make it happen automatically again in 2003?

Does putting "start " (without the quotes) at the beginning of the "/mone"
line make any difference?

No. Returns "Bad file or command"

But in trying your idea I hit on a solution:

....winword.exe /mone /mtwo

seems you can put 2 macros in sequence in Word 2003 so both mergedocs open
and the second gets the focus.
That's what I needed.
Thanks again for your help.
