Default "Read only". How to stop?

In the course of saving Word docs a doc will suddenly become 'Read only"
without any intervention by me. I must then resave the doc under another
name or folder. How do I stop this from happening?

I have the same problem and I look at the properties of the file and it is
not "read-only". Word seems to think that it is for some reason. Did you
find out how to fix this?

I have been having the exact same problem for a while now. I've gotten up to
-8 in one sitting from Word making me change the name so many times while
editing a document.
I hope an expert can tell us how to fix this.
